Materials and structures associated with innovative cementitious materials

The research activities carried out are by the section are:

  •  Conception, design, experimental research and modelling of the mechanical behaviour of innovative cement-based materials, including fibre-reinforced concrete, hybrid composites and cement composites made with recycled and natural components.
  • Conception, design, experimental research and modeling of the mechanical behaviour of innovative cement-based materials, including fibre-reinforced concrete, hybrid composites and cement composites made with recycled and natural components.
  • Mechanisms and fundamental processes that regulate the concrete-armature interaction and evaluation of the mechanisms underlying the resistance aspects of structural elements made with reinforced concrete and innovative cementitious-based materials.
  • Innovative conceptual and design approaches for the safety and sustainability of structures, mainly with reference to extreme actions.
  • Residual bearing capacity of structures damaged by accidental events of natural (e.g., earthquakes, hydrogeological phenomena) and anthropogenic (e.g., fires, explosions) origin.
