Incoming mobility programmes
Incoming programmes are divided into two different types, depending on their duration:
- temporary mobility of PhD students from other universities
- incoming mobility of candidates who, by participating in calls for application in their homecountries, obtain a scholarship to enroll and attend a PhD course at Politecnico di Milano.
Temporary mobility
This category includes “visiting” PhD students who participate in any international mobility programme or even the ones supported by their university of enrolment.
Incoming mobility (programs for the entry of foreign PhD students, who enroll at Politencico di Milano)
This category includes all candidates who participate, for example, in the CSC (China Scholarship Council) or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation calls, and PhD students that already enrolled in foreign universities who are covered by a double, joint or cotutelle doctorate agreement.

Outgoing mobility programmes
During their career, PhD students of Politecnico di Milano have the opportunity to participate in various types of exchange programmes, to experience a period of studying abroad or an internship, up to the possibility of activating ad hoc double or joint doctoral agreements or thesis co-tutelle with foreign universities.
