INDUSTRIAL PhD

Politecnico di Milano offers three types of Industrial PhD. They are typically selected to closely match employee profile which would fit best the Company needs.

Executive PhD

This type of PhD is designed for candidates who wish to have a PhD training co-supervised by the company/organization where they are employed. The Executive PhD programme usually lasts one year longer than the other Industrial PhDs.

High level apprenticeship contract

This type of Doctorate follows the same rules of the Executive PhD but it is addressed to new graduates (under 30) that are hired on a high-level apprenticeship basis by companies or external bodies. The candidate is placed in the company/body during the whole PhD training (i.e. the duration of the apprenticeship contract coincides with the one of the study cycle).

Contract with companies

If a company/organization is willing to fund a scholarship (min. required funding equal to 66.000 €), an agreement is signed between the company/organisation and the Department that is going to host the candidate.

A tax credit for companies/organisations that finance this type of scholarship is foreseen.
