Michele Rosso, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was awarded the Best Poster Award at the 22nd International PowerMEMS Conference 2023, held at New York University in Abu Dhabi.
The recognition was given for the presentation “Enhanced Frequency Up-Conversion of Vibration Energy Harvesters via Modified Magnetic Forces” co-authored by Alberto Corigliano and Raffaele Ardito.
The research, funded by the European project MetaVEH, proposes an innovative method to enhance the performance of low-frequency piezoelectric energy harvesters by introducing intentional nonlinearities and manipulating magnetic fields, opening new perspectives in the micro and nanotechnology energy sector.
