We are glad to announce that our next PhDTalks Seminar will be held on Tuesday 5 July in room 3.1.6 from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm CET.

PhDTalks is a series of seminars and discussions between PhD students. The events are aimed at providing a place to network and get in contact with many of the projects developed in our department.

Speaker Paolo Conti will talk about “Data-Driven Modelling of Nonlinear Dynamical Systems”.

Abstract:

Data driven modelling is an emerging research field that aims to identify physical models from measurements. This is a crucial new direction because the governing equations of many problems might not be known a priori. How to leverage data from different sources? How to correctly identify the dimensionality of the dynamics? How to exploit the identified model? In this talk we will answer these questions and propose novel strategies to identify models directly from data.

These events are self organised by PhD students and speakers are chosen on a voluntary basis.
