Welcome to the DICA Olympic Games!

Each sport has its own rules, so check the table on the next page to choose wisely.

The event is open to all members of the Department: PhD students, research fellows, postdocs, researchers of all levels, professors, and technical and administrative staff.

Some sports (3 out of 15) require a Basic subscription, which costs 30 €. The Basic subscription for PoliMi employees allows you to obtain the Silver subscription for free. The two subscriptions combined include the following:

  • Medical examination for the certificate for non-competitive sports activities
  • Insurance
  • Free rental of padel rackets
  • Access to the changing rooms, the athletics track, the area calisthenics and the 3 vs 3 basketball court (temporarily not available)

Some sports require a certificate for non-competitive sports activities: you can use the one you may have or, with the Basic subscription, request a free medical examination at the Giuriati Sports Centre.

Some tournaments are also open to employees of the entire Politecnico di Milano or the entire population! In this case, an internal ranking will be drawn up based on the positioning of our teams.

What to do to participate in the DICA Olympic Games:

  • Sign up, choose the sports you want to participate in by filling out this form
  • Based on the number of participants, for each sport it will be assessed whether there are enough members and what will be the modalities of execution
  • You will be contacted to confirm the competition and to provide you with helpful information. If you have already chosen your teammates, you will communicate it.
  • You can proceed, where required, by sending the certificate for non-competitive sports activities and proof of activation of the Silver subscription.

Information in case of injury:

  • The guarantees provided by the RCT policy apply to all participants if the damages are attributable to the Politecnico di Milano.
  • For PhD students and research fellows, the guarantees provided by the Injury insurance policy are also applicable if the damages are not attributable to the Politecnico di Milano. People with a research contract or a post-doc assignment, researchers, professors and technical-administrative staff are not covered by the Injury insurance policy.
  • Within the Giuriati Sports Centre, insurance coverage is valid for anyone who has purchased a Basic subscription.
  • The activities of Open water swimming, Volleyball, PolimiRun, and PolimiRide are not organized by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano, which only serves as support for the registration process.
