Gli eventi hanno lo scopo di fornire un luogo dove creare un\u00a0<strong>network<\/strong> tra dottorandi ed entrare in contatto con i molteplici<strong>\u00a0progetti<\/strong>\u00a0sviluppati nel nostro dipartimento.<\/p>\n<p>Lo speaker\u00a0<strong>Lorenzo Panzeri <\/strong>condurr\u00e0 un seminario dal titolo\u00a0<strong>\u201cA Mixed-dimensional solver for the geoelectrical analysis of highly resistive liners in landfills<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Al termine dell\u2019evento sar\u00e0 disponibile un piccolo rinfresco finanziato dal dipartimento.<\/p>\n<p>Sar\u00e0 possibile seguire la conferenza anche online al seguente\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/politecnicomilano.webex.com\/wbxmjs\/joinservice\/sites\/politecnicomilano\/meeting\/download\/fad501f716032432954a94fb5e6e4729\"><strong><em>link<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The analysis of the condition of the liner beneath municipal waste landfills is of considerable importance to prevent the spread of pollutants into the underlying layers down to the groundwater zone. Being at depths of several tens of metres in an uncertain location, it is crucial to find an effective method for its identification.<\/p>\n<p>Direct current (DC) methods, in particular ERT (Electric Resistivity Tomography), exploit the conductive and resistive properties of the materials, permitting the identification of both the location of the highly resistive HDPE (High density polyethylene) membrane and the possible diffusion area of the pollutant, which, due to its high salt content, is highly conductive. \u00a0A new mixed-dimensional Finite volume numerical model is developing for solving the forward and inverse problems in DC resistivity surveys.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaker\u2019s bio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lorenzo is a PhD Candidate in Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering (37\u00b0 cycle) at Politecnico di Milano with an interdisciplinary scholarship between the Department of Civil and Envirnomental Engineering and the Department of Mathematics. Lorenzo has a Master of Science in Civil Engineering For Risk Mitigation obtained in 2019.
