In Engineering, virtually any modelling or planning has to face uncertainty of different types and varying degrees of severity. How do we make choices under all this uncertainty, and how should we make them? Analyses coming from theoretical research on the concept of uncertainty and on different approaches in decision-making may provide valuable tools for applied work in many areas of Engineering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaker&#8217;s bio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Malvina Ongaro is a postdoc researcher at Politecnico di Milano. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy from the Universit\u00e0 del Piemonte Orientale, where she worked mainly in decision theory and philosophy of economics. She holds a MSc in philosophy of science from the London School of Economics and has held visiting positions at the TINT Centre for Philosophy of Social Science in Helsinki and at the Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Economics in Rotterdam.
