Gli eventi hanno lo scopo di fornire un luogo dove creare un\u00a0<strong>network<\/strong>\u00a0tra dottorandi ed entrare in contatto con i molti<strong>\u00a0progetti<\/strong>\u00a0sviluppati nel nostro dipartimento.<\/p>\n<p>Lo speaker <strong>Yassine Banani<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>condurr\u00e0 un seminario dal titolo\u00a0<strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>Innovative Inertial MEMS<\/strong>: Micro-Systems for Motion Detection for New Fabrication Process<strong>\u201d<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Al termine dell\u2019evento sar\u00e0 disponibile un piccolo rinfresco finanziato dal dipartimento.<\/p>\n<p>Sar\u00e0 possibile seguire la conferenza anche online al seguente\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/politecnicomilano.webex.com\/meet\/angela.chiecchio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>link<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Navigation in environments without external references -such as open oceans or airspace above clouds- requires devices that can measure motion without the need to communicate directly with the outside world. This problem has found a solution in devices based on MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology. In particular, MEMS inertial sensors are now the most widely used option for accurately and reliably measuring accelerations and changes in orientation of an object in space. Due to their ability to detect motion and changes in orientation without the need for GPS signal or other external systems. MEMS devices are increasingly being applied in various fields, from air and sea navigation to autonomous vehicles. In this presentation we propose innovative devices that take advantage of a new fabrication process to achieve high performance and reliability in measurements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaker\u2019s bio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yassine holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, in 2020. He is currently a PhD candidate in Structural, Seismic and Geotechnical Engineering (38<sup>th<\/sup> cycle).
