INFRALAB

The main topics covered by the laboratory cover all aspects inherent to the life cycle of transport infrastructures (conception, design, construction, adaptation, management, maintenance, and control), in particular:

  1. study, development, and testing of ordinary, innovative, recycled/reused, and alternative materials;
  2. research and development of advanced and sustainable production and processing technologies and methodologies;
  3. experimental activities at different scales, from the laboratory to the pilot implementation of full-scale solutions;
  4. field testing and monitoring for major infrastructural projects;
  5. design and development of new materials and testing equipment, up to the prototype and/or patent level;
  6. specialist consultancy in regulatory, design, and litigation matters;
  7. development of models and methods for road and airport safety analysis;
  8. collaborations with companies in the sector.

These activities support the development of advanced solutions for the improvement of transport infrastructures, with a focus on technological innovation, sustainability, safety, and collaboration with the industrial sector.
