DESCRIPTION:Il prossimo appuntamento con la serie di incontri PhDTalks si terrà Martedì 29 Novembre nell’aula 3.1.4\, dalle 18:15 alle 19:15 CET. \nPhDTalks è una serie di seminari e discussioni tra dottorandi. Gli eventi hanno lo scopo di fornire un luogo dove creare un network tra dottorandi ed entrare in contatto con i molti progetti sviluppati nel nostro dipartimento. \nLo speaker Francesco Ioli condurrà un seminario dal titolo “Low-cost Stereo Photogrammetry and Deep Learning for 4D Monitoring of an Alpine Glacier”. \n  \nAbstract:\nPhotogrammetry is a widely assessed tool for geomorphological 3D monitoring\, expecially in hardly accessible areas. In this PhD talk\, a low-cost image-based stereoscopic monitoring system\, developed and installed on the Belvedere Glacier (Italian Alps)\, is presented. By taking a pair of stereo-images every day\, the system is able to detect short-term 3D movement of the glacier. In August 2022\, during the warm and dry 2022 summer\, a glacier retreat of ~2.5 m in 30 days was estimated. \nSarà possibile seguire la conferenza anche online al seguente link. \nAl termine dell’evento sarà disponibile un piccolo rinfresco finanziato dal dipartimento. \nSe sei interessato a presentare durante uno di questi eventi\, invia una e-mail a chiara.recalcati@polimi.it
