SUMMARY:PhDTalks | A local model of snow–firn dynamics and application to the Colle Gnifetti site
DESCRIPTION:Il nostro prossimo appuntamento con il Seminario PhDTalks si svolgerà lunedì 9 maggio 2022 nell’aula 5.1.1 dalle 18:15 alle 19:15 CET. \nPhDTalks è una serie di seminari e discussioni tra dottorandi. Gli eventi hanno lo scopo di fornire un luogo dove creare un network tra dottorandi ed entrare in contatto con i molti progetti sviluppati nel nostro dipartimento. \nLa speaker Fabiola Banfi condurrà un seminario dal titolo “A local model of snow–firn dynamics and application to the Colle Gnifetti site”. \n \nAbstract: \nClimate changes require to move the boundary of firn models from snow accumulation to meteorological forcings. In this context\, we integrated the equations of snow and firn evolution into a local model. This was applied to the Colle Gnifetti site\, whose peculiarity is the intense snow erosion driven by wind. In this PhD Talk\, the model and application are presented\, with a focus on the challenges faced and still to be faced. \nL’evento sarà in presenza presso l’aula 5.1.1\, Politecnico di Milano\, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci\, 42\, 20133 Milano.\nAl termine dell’evento sarà disponibile un piccolo rinfresco finanziato dal dipartimento. \nSe sei interessato a presentare durante uno di questi eventi\, invia una e-mail a andrea.opreni@polimi.it se fai parte del programma ISSG oppure a chiara.recalcati@polimi.it se stai frequentando il programma IAI.
