UNIVERSITY MASTER

The Master is a post graduate degree of scientific specialization and high level permanent and recurrent training, following the achievement of the Degree or Master's Degree.
The University Master's courses are designed to train both highly "skilled professionals", both professional figures characterized
by a prevailing "transversal" application of acquired skills.
The educational activities lasting at least one academic year and at the end of the course, after passing the final exam, you released the university master's degree with its achievement of at least sixty university credits, corresponding to 1500 hours of operation. The University Masters differ between the first and second levels: access to the first level with Master level degree, studies / Master, university diploma, bachelor's degree (old system of studies) or equivalent qualification obtained abroad, to the Master university II level with Degree / Master, bachelor's degree (old system of studies) or equivalent qualification obtained abroad.

Specializing Master - 2° level in TUNNEL ENGINEERING (2°ed.)

DESCRIPTION:
The master is conceived as a transversal and multidisciplinary course in which theoretical lessons, specialist subjects, case studies, technical visits and internships are integrated. The Master is a full time course lasting one year. During the first six months the students will attend theoretical lessons, seminars and will take part in technical visits in laboratories and construction sites. During the following six months the students will have the opportunity of participating in internships/projects in different companies, under the supervision of professors and professionals operating in the tunnelling sectors. All participants will have access to the course material, in English, that will be uploaded on an online platform and it will remain available until the final exam.

EDUCATIONAL PROJECT:
As is testified by the number of kilometers of tunnels constructed every year all around the world, tunnelling is a rapidly expanding sector on a global scale. In this context, suitably trained professionals, with multidisciplinary knowledges are in largely demanded. At the moment, these skills are not provided by the traditional academic courses and cannot be easily acquired during the professional experience. The Master course in tunnel engineering, supported by many companies operating in the tunnelling sector, is conceived as a high specializing course, aimed at providing multidisciplinary skills, by defining a complete and articulated framework of all the necessary contents to prepare professionals with operational capabilities in design, construction and project management. Academic teachers and professional, operating both at a national and an international level, will tackle different engineering, technological, organizational, environmental, economical, legislative, strategic, managerial themes.

CAREER OUTCOMES:

The master will give the possibility of getting in touch with academic teachers, professionals and managers. The course aims not only at providing an internationally recognized academic title but also at creating a centre of excellence on tunnel engineering, where the different professionals are capable of interpreting and managing the complexity of the problems and becoming active and innovative actors in the research of new engineering solutions as well as capable of assuming position of responsibility in project management. The career opportunities can be identified in companies of design, construction, manufacturers of materials and technologies, machine producers, infrastructure managements.

The Master is open to candidates who have a Master of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering. For foreign applicants, the Master is open to students holding equivalent qualifications.

Specializing Master - 1° level in POLIS-MAKER FOR THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT (4°ed.)

DESCRIPTION: 

The Master programme has the objective of providing methodological and operational tools required for the evaluation of urban transformation alternatives, perceived as a complex unitary whole. The programme is addressed, in particular, to those involved in the development and transformation of the city and the local area as civil servants, professionals, project-financing promoters, real estate entrepreneurs, financial and insurance operators, non-profit organisations and in essence all those who carry out activities related to those of the program manager and, more precisely, the so-called "Polis-maker", with expertise in urban land management. The Specialising Master will take place with a dual training programme, constituted by both frontline and online teaching.

EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
The Master programme has the objective of providing methodological and operational tools required for the evaluation of urban transformation alternatives, perceived as a complex unitary whole. As a result, in the approach of the Master, there is constant attention to "existential space" and, therefore, to urban settlements of any size perceived not only as material but also immaterial; this sensitivity characterises the individual specialist contributions deriving from the multiple disciplines supporting both the interpretation of urban phenomena as well as the formulation of intervention hypotheses. The economic assessment of intervention projects, associating the Surveying of private property with that of public property, is explored in its application dimension with regard to the multiple approaches adopted by the different entities participating in the formation and transformation of the built environment..
